Almost two and half years ago I saw a blog post that changed my life. The post was an interview with a Chloe + Isabel merchandiser talking about what it was like to run her own online jewelry boutique. I had never heard of the company, but I was instantly intrigued by the idea of having my own business to add to the lifestyle blog I had at the time.
I could never have imagined that becoming a Chloe + Isabel merchandiser would be one of the most rewarding decisions of my life. I remember having a phone interview and hoping that I would be picked to represent such a unique company. When I bought the starter kit, I had never seen the jewelry in person, so when it showed up a few days later and was not only beautiful, but was exceptional quality, I couldn't wait to share the product with my family and friends.
I now manage a team of almost 50 remarkable women and get to help them make their own goals a reality every day. I've also had the opportunity to help several women make the decision to start their own Chloe + Isabel business, and here's what I would say when they ask what it's like to a Chloe + Isabel Merchandiser.
1. It's not always easy, but it's so worth it.
Building any kind of business is a hard endeavor. Anyone that tells you that you can just post pictures of your jewelry online and people will order from you isn't telling you the truth. It takes a lot of relationship building, whether you are selling online or in person. It takes getting people to try on the jewelry and getting it in their hands for them to see the quality so they know they want to own it. But being able to make your own schedule by booking parties when you want to, and helping women feel beautiful, are just a few of the incredible rewards of the hard work.
2. There are so many tools available to you, if you use them.
Chloe + Isabel has some of the most incredible training I've ever seen. They also provide you with (or you can choose to sign up with) an incredible manager/mentor that is trained extensively to help you. Their customer support is unmatched and an incredible resource for merchandisers, however, it's up to you to use these tools to your advantage.
3. You don't have to have a huge display to succeed.
For my first few parties, I only had the starter kit, and the more success I had, the more jewelry I was able to earn for free. I would say that 80% or more of the display jewelry I have now, I earned. I do think it helps to have more jewelry to show people, but it's possible to earn that jewelry if it's not financially feasible to buy it all.
4. It's a true business, if you treat it that way.
You can make serious money selling Chloe + Isabel. However, if you treat it as a hobby to work on every now and then, that's just what it will be; a hobby. If you're serious about your business and spend time each day working it, you will see results. I have a full-time job in addition to my boutique and managing my team, but I still work my business every single day.
5. The relationships you make are priceless.
The fellow merchandiser friends that I've made have been one of the most rewarding parts of this journey for me. The community is unlike any other that I've been a part of. The support and collaboration is unmatched. I feel like my manager truly cares about me as a person and is there to help me succeed, and I hope my team members feel the same way about me.
I could talk about this for days because I'm so passionate about the company, but I'll leave you here. If you want to know more about the Chloe + Isabel opportunity or have any questions for me, do not hesitate to comment on this post or send me a message.
